Give your dancer a chance to reach new heights and influence the future of dance. Joining the AKA Luminaries will be an experience they will never forget!

Director’s Note

Thank you for your interest in the Luminary Competition Team (LCT). We appreciate your enthusiasm. To stay updated on all team news and announcements, we encourage you to follow us on Instagram at @LuminaryCompTeam.

Please note that joining the LCT requires a significant commitment. Balancing additional activities alongside Luminary, such as school plays or other sports, can be quite challenging. In the event of scheduling conflicts, we expect Luminary to take priority. If you find yourself unable to dedicate yourself fully to this level of commitment, we kindly request that you refrain from auditioning for the team.

Thank you again for considering the LCT. We understand the dedication and hard work it takes to excel in this demanding field. We look forward to potentially welcoming you into our team family and witnessing your growth as a dancer. Should you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. Best wishes in your dance journey!

  • Being on a competitive dance team promotes teamwork. Dancers are encouraged to do their individual best and help one another reach their full performing potential.

  • The simple task of setting a goal and then reaching it is a great way to improve your skills and feel great about yourself! Competitions inspire dancers to try their hardest, teach the benefits of constructive criticism, and develop a compassionate and positive attitude, win or lose.

  • Competition dancers are working towards perfecting their technique and routines at the dance studio. This desire to commit and never quit stays with a dancer long after the season ends.

  • From dance conventions to competitions, an AKA Luminary’s schedule is filled with amazing experiences. This enables our dancers to show off their talent, make connections and work with some of the best teachers in the industry.
